What is the best course for getting new Ham license? - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in 2010 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2010, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Hi guys. I am finally going to get my Ham license. What do you veterans of the Amateur world recommend for studying for the tests? There are lots of courses out there, but any tips on the best for the money (or free) would be apprecaited. Thanks.

Oh also what would be a good entry level radio that will allos for advancement to higher levels? I live on the outskirts of Boston now in a neighborhood that probably would not like a big tower or antenna. What's good for a "contained" environment?

The ARRL.org website is the best source for all the study materials you need. Just about anything they endorse by selling will be good. Where are you located in Boston?
