Hi guys. I am finally going to get my Ham license. What do you veterans of the Amateur
world recommend for studying for the tests? There are lots of courses out there, but
any tips on the best for the money (or free) would be apprecaited. Thanks. Oh
also what would be a good entry level radio that will allos for advancement to higher
levels? I live on the outskirts of Boston now in a neighborhood that probably would
not like a big tower or antenna. What's good for a "contained" environment?

The ARRL.org website is the best source for all the study materials you need. Just about
anything they endorse by selling will be good. Where are you located in Boston?

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
