Hi Im relatively inexpirienced with electronics
and radio, however I'm currently undertaking a related
project and would like to know if anyone tell me
if a highly directional antenna exists that could
receive at UHF 868 MHz that would be sturdy / small
enough to be mounted on top of a car? Many Thanks

Hay, how much GAIN do you want? thare are small
magnetic monopoles that can give you about 5dBi
(if you put them an the middle of the car roof),
there are also small patch antennas that have a
gain of 7dBi-10dBi which can be mounted on the car.
you should look at the catalogs of KATHRIEN, CUSHCRAFT.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
