Dielectric Goop - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. I have been quite happy using RTV (as a dielectric) to tune and align filters/circuits for some time now. My company has informed me that I can no longer use this substance because it has undesirable side-effects when used in a hybrid construction environment (this is due to the silicone content).

Does anyone know of an alternate high dielectric substance that is Silicone free?

Thank you in advance-

Hi

there are some fluid cement goop type products that are high in polystyrene. These are sold for example to model-making freaks like Kirt and me.

The plastic blob when set should have a low loss permittivity around 2.2
