18, 2005 8:39 am I would like to calculate the maximum aperture
size in a RF can to prevent RF energy @2.4GHz radiating through the
can. The can material is brass nickle plate fixed to a FR4 pcb.
I currently have apertures of 0.3mm X 2.5mm spaced along the bottom
wall edges to thermally relieve the pcb contacts of the can. Is this
OK? I have been told aperture dimensions should not exceed 0.6mm
square before RF @2.4GHz sees the "gap" - in which case my existing
can would fail to block the RF. Can anyone please advise?
