VSWR Sensitivity to a Power Amplifier - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. Post subject: VSWR Sensitivity to a Power Amplifier

Unread postPosted: Fri Jun 24, 2005 4:02 pm

Good day.

The power amplifier is using 2 HFETs (WJ FP31QF). The input signal is split using a 3 dB Quadrature Hybrid (Anaren 1E1304-3), fed to the transistors and then combined with another 3 dB Quadrature Hybrid (same hybrid). My question is what effect would a mismatch have on the transistors? Would they see the mismatch or would there be some isolation?

Thank you for your time and help

Michael
