General Purpose/Objectives:

Head of Sales, RF Power Division, Needed by e2v - RF CafeIn the RF Power Division we partner with our customers in a wide variety of markets, all around the world. Over 90% of the world's radiotherapy machines contain our technology, we bring vehicles and boats to a Safe Stop, protecting people's lives, we stop boats colliding at sea, our technology detects and deceives radar threats, we control the kicker magnet in CERN's large hadron collider, and much much more. We are looking for a Head of Sales for our USA sales team with experience in managing a small sales team, leading by example to smash sales targets, hunt for new business, and show the team how they can do the same.

We are looking for someone who can grow our sales and have an impact on our business. If you can tell us about all the new business you have hunted for and won, we would love to talk to you. If you have experience and contacts in our markets and you understand how to listen to our customer's needs and tailor solutions for them, we should definitely talk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Building relationships with our customers, working out the right people to speak to in our large accounts
  • Finding new customers and new applications to grow our business across the USA
  • Networking with industry contacts and with customers to look for new solution sales
  • Negotiating pricing and terms with customers to maximise value
  • Working with bid teams in the UK to provide exciting proposals to our customers
  • Generating an opportunity funnel using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to forecast growth
  • Managing opportunities with customers and in the CRM system to point of order closure
  • Hitting and hopefully exceeding annual sales targets
  • Working with our engineering, customer services, project management and other functions to provide an outstanding customer experience for our customers
  • Attending industry trade shows to look for new opportunities
  • Leading by example, showing your team how to hit their targets and driving them to do the same

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge & experience of working in a technology company selling into large organisations
  • Experience in hitting or exceeding demanding sales targets with examples you can tell us about
  • Lots of experience in hunting for new business
  • Persuasive and clear communication skills, whether you're writing an email or presenting to customers
  • Strong problem solving capabilities, someone who does not give up until the problem is resolved
  • Administration skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in accurate forecasting - you should know what CRM means and the importance of using it accurately
  • An ability to multi task and work within tight deadlines
  • Team leader experience managing a sales team, and an ability to work independently
  • Happy to travel at least 50% of your time, ideally based mid to East Coast USA
  • Experience in selling systems, support and services
  • Experience in using any of the following processes; Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Key Account Management, Strategic Selling, Complex Sales, Challenger sales
  • Ideally experience in working for a company where the Head Office is in a different region
  • A desire to progress your career, we are a growing company
