The Soyez 1 reentry accident of 1967 and Soyez 11 reentry claimed a total of 4 cosmonauts. We lost the Columbia space shuttle during reentry in February of this year. The only fatal launch accident was the Challenger shuttle in 1986. The Apollo 1 tragedy in 1967 technically was not a flight accident because the fire occurred during a practice run while still on the launch pad. |

Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while typing up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
