Hittite Press Release - December 15, 2009

Hittite's SPDT T/R Switch is Ideal for High Power Transceivers

New 10W T/R Switch Covers Cellular/3G and WiMAX/4G Applications to 4 GHz!

Chelmsford, MA, December 15, 2009 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, announces the release of a new GaAs pHEMT SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) MMIC T/R (Transmit/Receive) Switch which is ideal for automotive telematics, private mobile radio (PMR), cellular/3G, WiMAX/4G and test equipment applications from DC to 4 GHz.

Hittite HMC784MS8GEThe HMC784MS8GE is a low loss, high linearity GaAs pHEMT 10W SPDT MMIC switch for use in transmit/receive applications which require very low distortion at high input power levels. The HMC784MS8GE can control signals from DC to 4 GHz, and provides exceptional P1dB and IP3 performance of +40 dBm and +62 dBm respectively. With its superior low distortion at high input power levels, and its fast switching characteristics, the HMC784MS8GE is ideal for modern basestation infrastructure applications. On-chip circuitry allows single positive supply operation from +3 Vdc to +8 Vdc at very low DC current, while the control inputs are compatible with most CMOS logic outputs. The HMC784MS8GE is conveniently housed in a RoHS compliant, MSOP-8G leaded package, and complements Hittite’s broad line of SPST and SPNT switch products with frequency coverage up to 86 GHz.

Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
