M/A-COM  Introduces New Family of Circulators and Isolators for L- and S-Band Radar & Avionics Applications

M/A COM Technology SolutionsBoston, Massachusetts—September 29, 2009— M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (M/A-COM Tech), a leading provider of innovative microwave and RF design solutions and products, is introducing a family of circulators and isolators for L and S-Band radar and avionics applications. The product family is packaged in small drop-in packages ideally suited for high volume manufacturing. The announcement is being made at European Microwave Week 2009 in M/A-COM Tech’s Stand #316.

These new products were realized using the in-depth design and manufacturing knowledge developed with more than 30 years of supplying the military and commercial industries. “Our ferrite circulators have industry leading insertion loss performance. Insertion loss is a critical parameter in radar design. For a 100W tone, every 0.1 dB of loss thru the circulator results in 2.3W of lost transmit power. Using an above ferromagnetic resonance design approach, M/A-COM Tech’s circulators have a typical insertion loss of < 0.30 db,” says Brian Hartnett, Director of Engineering of the company’s Infrastructure Group in Cork, Ireland.
