ACS Announces Update to VSA Simulator

ACS LINC2 VSAACS recently released Version 1.02 of the LINC2 VSA (Visual System Architect) system simulation software. This new version adds a measurement option for tracking signal levels relative to P1dB (one dB gain compression) at every node in the system. When plotted, Signal/P1dB shows at a glance whether the signal level at any component is at, above or below the component’s P1dB compression point.

The Visual System Architect offers a large variety of new design and analysis capabilities for designing at the system level. The program renders obsolete many of the traditional spreadsheet and system cascade calculators once used to analyze system performance. The flexibility and ease of use of schematic-based system simulation is combined with a comprehensive array of analysis methods and graphic displays.

The LINC2 VSA includes spectral domain analysis that provides spectrum analyzer type plots of all the signals, harmonics, intermodulation products and spurs at any selected point in the system. The VSA Signal Tree displays every signal along with its path through the system, making it easy to trace the history of any signal or spur back through the system to its origin. Non-linear (input-output) power sweeps and cascade (system parameter) budget analyses are also included. More information about the Visual System Architect and other LINC2 products from ACS can be found on the ACS web site at www.appliedmicrowave.com.
