Z-Comm Introduces SFS6520A-LF C-Band VCO with Low Phase Noise

SFS6520A-LF phase noiseSan Diego, CA, February 1, 2010 -- Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant Fixed Frequency Synthesizer model SFS6520A-LF in C-band. The SFS6520A-LF is a single frequency synthesizer that operates at 6520 MHz. This Synthesizer features a typical phase noise of -90 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz offset and typical sideband spurs of -65 dBc.

SFS6520A-LF PackageThe SFS6520A-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6 dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5 Vdc while drawing 40 mA (typical) and a phase locked loop voltage of 3 Vdc while drawing 11 mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40º to 80º C. This Fixed Frequency Synthesizer features typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -20 dBc and comes in Z-Comm's industry standard PLL-V12N package measuring 0.60 in. x 0.60 in. x 0.13 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The

SFS6520A-LF is also ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow. SFS6520A-LF is well suited for satellite communication and test and measurement applications that require low phase noise performance. Additional specifications for this product can be found on-line at

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
