Richardson RFPD Press Release - June 8, 2011

Richardson RFPD Selected as Sole Distributor for
ATC Ultra-Broadband Inductors

-  Now Stocking New 506WLC Series Products

Richardson RFPD

June 8, 2011 – LaFox, Illinois: Richardson RFPD, Inc. today announces it has been selected by American Technical Ceramics (ATC) as the global exclusive distributor for the new 506WLC Series of Ultra-Broadband Inductors. This select group of inductors has been engineered with a powdered iron ferrite core and gold plated terminations to provide reliable and repeatable ultra-broadband performance beyond 40 GHz. These inductors are ideal for many applications, including use in trans-impedance amplifiers, ultra-broadband DC coupling networks, and broadband test equipment.

American Technical Ceramics (ATC) 506WLC Series of Ultra-Broadband InductorsCharacteristic of the 506WLC inductors is their distinctive pyramid shape, which allows the copper wire to be tightly wrapped around its core and, thus, provide maximum inductance within the overall dimensions of the product. Their shape also makes these parts easy to handle during hand soldering operations. Additionally, these passive components have been carefully manufactured to provide ultra low insertion loss, flat frequency response and an excellent match over multiple octaves of frequency spectrum.

Key Product Features and Advantages:
·         Current inductance values in the series: 2.0 µH, 6 µH, and 11 µH
·         Wide operating frequency range: as low as 500 KHz through 40+ GHz
·         Low insertion loss: as low as 0.4 dB
·         Ample return loss: typically > 17 dB
·         Low DC resistance
·         Extremely rugged design
·         Operating temperature range (ºC): -40 to +85
·         Excellent unit-to-unit performance repeatability
·         RoHS compliant

Richardson RFPD provides complete design-in and logistics support for the ATC Ultra-Broadband Inductors. Each part is currently in-stock with full documentation available. To find more information, or to purchase these products on the Richardson RFPD website, please visit Richardson RFPD Ultra-Broadband Inductors. The inductors are also available from by calling 1-800-737-6937 (within North America); or please find your local sales engineer (worldwide) at Local Sales Support.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
