Press Release

Zensys’ Z-Wave Chip Named International CES Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Award Honoree

Upper Saddle River, NJ, November 21, 2005 – Zensys, the inventors of the Z-Wave wireless mesh networking technology for home control, today announced the ZW0201, its second generation Z-Wave chip, has been named an International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Award honoree in the computer components category.

The Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Awards recognize significant advancements in technology design and engineering. The ZW0201 was selected as an honoree from a pool of more than 1,000 entries from 160 companies in 30 categories. Products are judged by an independent panel of journalists, designers and engineers.

Zensys’ ZW0201 System on Chip (SoC) is a complete wireless solution consisting of an integrated RF transceiver, an 8051 microcontroller, flash and SRAM memory storage and a range of peripherals.

As the lowest priced, most efficient and smallest wireless solution in the home control space, the ZW0201 is making affordable, easy-to-use connected home solutions a reality for the mass market. Many home control companies are currently integrating the ZW0201 into their lighting, garage door, appliance control, shade & blind, access control and home entertainment products. In addition, many consumer electronics companies are integrating the ZW0201 into their remote controls, routers, satellite television receivers and tablet PCs.

The ZW0201 will be displayed at the 2006 International CES in the all-new Innovations Plus at the Sands. The 2006 International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, is being held January 5-8, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Zensys’ recognition as a 2006 Design and Engineering Award honoree is its third recognition in the past three months. In October, Z-Wave, which enables consumers to monitor and manage their lighting, security systems and other home products easily, conveniently and securely, from anywhere in the world, was named a Best Enabling Technology of the Year by the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) and a 2005 Product of the Year award by Electronic House magazine.

“The honors and awards Zensys has received in the past three months validate Z-Wave’s position as the industry’s home control technology of choice,” said Per Nathanaelson, Zensys’ President and CEO. “As we continue to reduce the size and cost of the Z-Wave chip, and increase the number of Z-Wave enabled products on the market, we and our partners will continue to execute on the promise of the connected home and enable consumers in all types of environments to experience the convenience and security of home control.”

About Zensys - Zensys is a provider of wireless networking technology for control and status reading applications and the developer of Z-Wave, a low-cost, two-way, wireless mesh network communications technology that enables consumers to monitor and manage their lighting, security systems and other home controls easily, conveniently and securely from anywhere in the world.
