We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior High Voltage Design Engineer at our Livermore, California location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Leads all technical initiatives for Temescal’s power supply, sweep and controller product portfolio.
Provides the technical expertise and creative solutions to meet design requirement solutions.
Provides design solutions that have high probability of success with analytical backup as required.
Provides design solutions that meet product safety and quality targets in accordance with Temescal’s requirements and appropriate legislative and international standards.
Effectively communicates with other departments within Temescal to formalize design requirements from input to production.
Interfaces with Manufacturing, Field Service and provides phone support to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Participates in RFQ responses and custom engineering estimates to meet customer requirements.
Provides analysis and documentation that conforms to Temescal requirements and accepted industry practices.
Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Position Requirements:
B.S. Electrical Engineering with 10+ years experience or M.S.E.E. with 5+ years experience in designing high voltage power supplies of 5-10kV delivering 2-20kW.
Experience in the design and production of reliable and cost-competitive switch-mode high voltage power supplies and switching inductors, from cradle-to-grave, with complete documentation, including all assembly instructions, test procedures and test fixtures.
Capable of high power solid state thermal analysis and heat sink design
Thorough and current knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, SEMI S2-0703 & SEMI F47, CE standards and practices, including appropriate HV standards and guidance through certification process
Experience in troubleshooting electrical circuits, including manufacturing, field and phone support. Well-organized and systematic in with work processes and documentation
A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
