Job Description:

The Radio Access Network (RAN) Performance Engineer is responsible for developing RF engineering best practices, standards, key performance indicators (KPIs) and guidelines in collaboration with technology development engineering and field engineers across the nation.

Position Requirements:

  • Establishing an on-going national forum with lead RAN engineers across the country to develop tools and technical solutions that improve the efficiency of field engineers and minimize redundant problem solving and tool development among the field offices.

  • Development and continuous improvement of RAN KPI metrics and reports for both executive leadership as well as field engineers.

  • The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a personality that fosters individual creativity and innovation while adding structure and efficiency to field engineering activities.

  • The person who will be successful in this role will be an effective group leader who also enjoys getting into details and understanding the lower level structure of protocols and systems that make up the Clearwire wireless network.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing statistical and trend reports to senior management and initiate change to improve the overall quality of the Clearwire network.

  • Develop RAN engineering standards and field guides.

  • Lead detailed analysis and characterization of difficult to identify RAN problems.

  • Development of field implementation guides for new RAN technology being deployed into the Clearwire network.

  • Monitoring network KPIs and taking proactive action to avert network performance degradation.

  • Generate requirements to technology and tools development organizations for network operational and performance enhancements.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in RAN design and performance engineering for a wireless network operating company.

  • 3-5 years experience in regional or national RAN engineering role for a wireless network operating company.

  • Experience with internet protocol and voice over IP strongly preferred.

  • Ability to manage stressful situations and adapt to rapidly changing environments and requirements with minimal guidance.

Job Description:

This person will lead a field engineering team responsible for network performance and capacity of the Clearwire core network. The team will monitor capacity and performance of core network elements, backhaul networks, including Microwave (MW) and Telco, Metro Area Networks including Internet access demark and VoIP networks. This team is also responsible for designing and ordering Telco facilities as required, initiating MW augments and working with the Deployment team to ensure upgrades are implemented and commissioned effectively.
