The popularity of HDTV and cinema-like home theater products are driving rapid growth in the market for micro-display projection HDTV and front projectors. iSuppli’s most recent 2007 forecast projects 9.2 million unit shipments of micro-display HDTVs, home theater front projectors and enterprise projectors with an annual growth rate of 26%.
Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Sr RF Engineer will be responsible for developing key amplifier technologies and designs for the LUXIM lamp. The Sr RF Engineer will lead the effort to achieve higher efficiency, lower cost, highly reliable RF power amplifiers and related control circuitry. Because RF power amplifiers are a key technology for LUXIM, this position will be highly visible and will be a key to LUXIM’s success. The Sr RF Engineer will also assist in the integration and system design of the LUXIM lamp.
Position responsibilities will include:
High Power amplifier design using LDMOS, GaAs and GaN devices up to 200W. Identification of new technologies and design to achieve higher efficiency (>70%) and lower cost.
Amplifier characterization under high power conditions and the interaction of the amplifier integrated into the lamp assembly
Design of control and monitoring circuitry (analog and low power RF)
Managing power amplifier and transistor vendors in the development stage to ensure delivery of product that meets specification and reliability.
Assist Quality and Reliability in defining and executing reliability testing and product qualification
The Person
The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:
8 years of experience in RF design
High Power RF amplifier design, minimum of 50W
Integration of amplifiers into subsystems (ie, basestation amplifiers)
Successful track record of bringing designs into production
Design with LDMOS, V/DMOS or GaAs transistors
Highly Desirable Experience:
High Efficiency amplifier design (Class D/E, Class F, etc)
Design for high volume production
Education
BSEE or equivalent; MSEE preferred
