NXP - founded by Philips in 2006NXP is a Top 10 semiconductor company founded by Philips more than 50 years ago. Headquartered in Europe, the company has 37,000 employees working in 20 countries across the world. NXP creates semiconductors, system solutions and software that deliver better sensory experiences in mobile phones, personal media players, TVs, set-top boxes, identification applications, cars and a wide range of other electronic devices.

No company is better positioned to offer the at-home experience on the move. Semiconductor solutions from NXP Semiconductors’ Mobile & Personal Business Unit help bring consumers exciting new entertainment and communications experiences such as TV-on-mobile. By drawing on our 50-year heritage in consumer electronics, we can develop multimedia processors that deliver exceptionally crisp, clear video and audio. We are, for example, number one in complete system solutions for GSM/GPRS/EDGE handsets, and have shipped more than 200 million Nexperia cellular chip sets. We also lead in speaker systems for mobile phones and FM radio ICs for portable applications. We also excel in intelligent power management, and have introduced advanced picture enhancement technologies for creating vivid visual experiences on portable devices.
