We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for an RF Engineer within our Competitive Analysis Group. This position will have unique visibility into RFMD’s total cellular portfolio and advanced development activity. Additionally, this position works with product lines and advanced development to ensure RFMD’s product roadmaps contain market leading products. The Applications Engineer's primary focus is benchmarking RFMD products against competitor’s products through generation and analysis of performance data. This is accomplished through a combination of lab work, coordinating data generation at remote sites, custom PCB development and report creation.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
•Identifies appropriate sources of performance data for both RFMD and competitor’s products. •Works with Characterization or Product Line Applications Engineering to complete performance testing. •Creates PCBs as required to facilitate evaluation of competitor’s products. •Creates reports summarizing RFMD performance versus competitors for use by research and development and product line business development to guide decisions. •Analyzes competitors’ cellular radio system architectures for possible performance and cost advantages. •Works with product line business development and marketing to identify products for competitive analysis to improve RFMD’s performance or cost advantage, based on information from customers. •Attends industry conferences and seminars as necessary to stay current on design trends and technological advances.
