Technical Specialist

Primary responsibilities include:

Acceptance testing of cold cartridge assemblies operating in frequency ranges from 67 GHz to 720 GHz.

Installation of cold cartridge assemblies into cryostat using precision cartridge loader.

Training of Chilean and Taiwanese engineers in the usage of tilt table, cartridge loader, and cold cartridge test set.

Acceptance testing, documentation and distribution of cartridge bias modules within ALMA’s partner nations.

Performed planarity measurements using Faro laser tracker.

Designed and fabricated six-band phase correction fixtures including coaxial switch matrix from BOM and block diagram.

Responsible for initial setup and operation of the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) North American Integration Center including shop layout and equipment placement for maximum usage of available resources.

Coordinated with contractor to assist and streamline installation of automated tilt tables and environmental chamber.
