PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
GUZIK TECHNICAL ENTERPRISES Mountain View, CA 2005 - Present RF Design Engineer Main RF expert reported directly to the VP of engineering, improved engineering design processes and procedures, Developed new manufacturing processes and procedures, redesigned products for improved performances, FPY and reliability. Lead Design and developed a 6 to 3 GHz front end down converter for a Real Time Spectrum Analyzer. Including Frequency planning analysis, component selection, power budget and cost analysis. Redesigned the up converter channel of a 3GHz RTSA, improved the flatness and gain response.
Lead Designed and Developed a Programmable Filter Matrix, allowed Low pass filtering from 250MHz to 5GHz in a single device. The PFM was programmable through a computer via USB connection; it required calibration and allowed for differential or single ended I/O. Redesigned the Tracer 5 Product line for DFM and FPY improvements developed all MTG and ETG worked closely with software and digital designers to improve functionality and testability of the product. Improved FPY from 10% to 95%. Worked closely with Assembly houses and vendors to stream line the supply chain and improved build cycle time. Managed the programmable filters product line, specified software requirements and worked with the test software Group for an automatic tuning setup, used a network analyzer and a computer to automatically tune the filters with a push of a button. Developed the procedures and documentation for the whole family of programmable filter, improved productivity by 500 % and reduced the contribution of possible human error within the process. Redesigned the HF-1000 1GHz spectrum Analyzer, redesigned the RF front end due to obsolescence of some PLL components and improved the Path for DFM, Testability and Tuning time improvement. Improved test time by 30% and first pass yield by 40%.
STRATEX NETWORKS, San Jose, CA, 1998 2005 RF Design Engineer Multi-national Team organization skills to monitor yields and issues of synthesizers. Technical process management of our partner in Taiwan improvement in yields from 50% to 97% FPY. Setup and improved the Production test station over MTI in Taiwan improved throughput by a 100%. Responsible for specification, development, testing and manufacturing introduction of multiple RF modules in Digital Radios including RF synthesizers, and cost effective L-Band synthesizers. Phase hit free design of the RFLO and IFLO including innovative mechanical design and mounting of the oscillators as well as material specification and process of manufacturing. Developed a test set with a Phase hit tester, a phase hit detector and accelerometer recorder set-up to characterize Phase hit over temperature in Oscillators and synthesizers. Eliminated phase hit in several designs: SAW, CRO and VCO. Designed and Developed several improved cost effective approach of IFLO for the Altium product line involving PIC16F84 MCU implementation to keep the legacy of the software intact. Developed a YIG based synthesizer with an offset SAW LO for the Millennium platform. Development of VHDL code for fractional-N frequency synthesis with delta sigma modulation. Co-Development of a negative feedback path on a VCO to Improve close-in phase noise. Test on microwave radios electronic cards, quality tests. Co-Engineering and development of a phase hit detector for RF engineering group
