Greetings: An RF Cafe visitor recently sent me a photo of the 100-meter radio
astronomy telescope at Green Bank, West Virginia. The first thing I noticed in the pic
was the dedication plaque to former Senator Robert C. Byrd (D-WV); in fact, it is called
the "Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope." http://www.gb.nrao.edu/gbt/
What I want to know is does the Robert C. Byrd telescope operate in the KKK-Band?
 They don't use an e-mail
address, or I would write to ask. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Byrd#Ku_Klux_Klan

KKK-band! That's a riot!
I
was always wondering why Byrd was called the Conscience of the Senate when everyone
knew of his background as a KKK kleagle. Bill Clinton even excused it at the old coot's
funeral by saying it was necessary to get elected in West Virginia. Then again, Bill
figured womanizing was necessary to get elected in Arkansas!
