Tech Blunder in "Air Force One" Movie (Harrison Ford) - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

With all the junk in the news about the seemingly sacred Olympic Torch, I was amused to see this story from the BBC. Have to admit I thought the torch lighting and carrying dated back to ancient Greece, but it was actually started by Hitler's Nazis.

The Olympic torch is being welcomed this weekend in the UK as a symbol of the sporting spirit, uniting people around the world in peaceful competition.

But the idea of lighting the torch at the ancient Olympian site in Greece and then running it through different countries has much darker origins.

It was invented in its modern form by the organisers of the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.

And it was planned with immense care by the Nazi leadership to project the image of the Third Reich..........
