Monopole antenna Designing - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

I m designing a ISM RF trasmitter(10mW type) operating frequency is 315 MHz

I want to use a monopole type of antenna plz guide me how to design a
monopole antenna(any article,formulae) for a particular frequency,what
should be the material/thichness for the wire used(copper, etc) and how to designit to have 50ohm or any input impeadence,

also guide me how can i measure the input impeadence of an
antenna(monopole-single wire type) practically.plz tell me if there is any

Hay,
buy a simple magnetic antenna used for car radio (like the one you see on taxi for it's communication) and then cut the antenna to 0.25 wave length. you can check it with a NA.
use it with a gound plane.
