OmniDirectional Antenna Range - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Post subject: OmniDirectional Antenna Range

I know there are many parameters affecting the distance we can transmit

using an omnidirectional ant. But using C-band(5-6GHz) transmitter around 10-20

watts, how far can we go? I really need to know the practical limits. :?:

Any ideas or already existing trivial equations are greatly appreciated.
