S-band High Gain Antenna - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hello,

We are looking for and S-band (2200 - 2300 MHz) dish antenna with a minimum gain of 35 dBi and G/T of minimum 12 dB/K at a 10 degree elevation. Antenna diameter should be about 3 m.

I Googled for some S-band antennas but, did not find anything that came close to these specs. This is for a satellite application.

If anyone has any information about where we could source such an antenna, please let us know.

Thanks and regards,

Abhishek

Try
1 The world's virtual monopoly supplier of Satcom Earth Station Antennas (if you must) Andrew Corporation
2 RFS (part of Alcatel)
3 GTE = Comelit or Cellwave divisions

PMS Antennas in the UK was recently bought by Andrew 8-(

The thing about satcom (tranmitting) earth station antennas is they must be Type Approved by the satellite service provider, so you cannot just buy a dish of the right spec and hope it will be acceptable.
