help with electronic basic question 1 - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

am in need of this info

if there is a 20v p.s going thru a 10 ohm resistor (in series) then go to 2- 20 ohm resistors in parallel. whats the voltage drop across the 20ohm resistors.

i know the same voltage is applied across each branch so would you find the total resistence and treat it as a series circuit (another 10 ohms)

whaT next

You are correct. The 2 20 ohm resistors in paralell would equall a 10 ohm resistor. So the voltage drop across each of the 10 ohm resistors would be the same.
