pm Posts: 17 hi,
let's say i have differential power amplifier.
if i unload one side of it at both the input and output (meaning don't
terminate one side with 50 Ohm at intput/output), wouldn't ideally the
magnitude of output power remain the same (and hence the gain).
the way i'm thinking is that the phase will be affected. also, i
read that having differential (balanced/push-pull) configuration is
better because the input/output impedance is increased, the common lead
inductance through source/emitter connection is reduced and that 2nd
harmonic is canceled. why is it desired to have the inptut/output impedance
increased? another thing, does every balanced/push-pull configuration
cancels out 2nd harmonic. i'm thinking not. please share your feedback/ideas.
thanks
