ASSET(Aircom) vs Planet(Marconi) - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

hi guys,

FEw basic questions. My coy is in a process of buying RF planning Tool
We have to select between ASSET(aircomm) and Planet(Marconi). Our Project is CDMA based. My questions are:

1) Which of the two is better and stable. Inshort which one you guys will suggest.

2) We have digital maps for ASSET, will they work with PLANNET also.

I hear that Asset is actually scaling down on product developments and Planet EV id based on the Dbplanner has only been recently released .. so watchout tht beta versions.

Asset has not been too great , especially if you'd need to run Oracle server and asset on the same laptop ( if u'd need this for fieldwork ) machine practically hangs and kills the batts.

Hey , you tried reviewing this product called <ATOLL> from Forsk ?
I've been using this for more than a year and have little complains so far , i hear they are adopted in Alcatel , Nortel and huawei...

It also imports the entire Planet 2.8 site database etc. Aircom and Planet maps works and plenty of other formats.supports CDMA IS-95 , 2000 and oso on the 450 Mhz
