Hi guys,
I recently graduated with
a Masters in EE, i have done relavent courses in wireless and cellular
communications, also gave an interview with Nokia for some OMC position,
but it didnt work out.
Now i am not getting any calls.....i
wanted to know if it is a good idea to start out with a staffing firm
gain some experience and then try the Bigger firms.
the staffing
firms are only offering drive testing positions.
Is that a good
way to go about it. Guys with experience please let me know your opinions.

Hello Yellow,
I think that
the best way to enter the field of RF is from the "bottom" to the top.
By that I mean that a testing role would help you to get a better understanding
of an RF system. Moreover, this role would give you a valuable hands-on
experience with testing equipment and measurements, which are an essential
part of the RF Engineering field.
I have started my RF career
in a testing position at the manufacturing department of a defence company,
and from that role I grew up to R&D and to project management. So
take the testing jobs with both hands, because from there the sky is
the limit for you, if you are open-minded and willing to learn.

I got my start right out of college with a BSEE doing
design. Of course, for the first few months I was put in front of a
network analyzer doing S-parameter measurements. The numbers didn't
mean much to me at the time, but eventually everything clicked. Today
I'm still doing RF design.
Just go for whatever position you
most desire. Some company will pick you up eventually.
