Is it possible to get in these companies that way? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

-- Amateur Radio
-- Anecdotes, Gripes & Humor
-- Antennas
-- CAE, CAD, & Software
-- Circuits & Components
-- Employment & Interviews
-- Miscellany
-- Swap Shop
-- Systems
-- Test & Measurement

I am a gth semester EE student aspiring to start career in RF but there is no RF design company in my country and these big companies(listed in forum) dont bother to take entry level from my country.
One question more

Is it possbile to learn All RF designing on my own and do some realprojects on my won (with guidence or under professor) and then apply for RF design jobs that demands independent designer that need little guidence?

You've got a tough row to hoe, especially right now. I'm of the opinion that it's difficult, if not impossible, to learn RF Design on your own. You might be better off targeting smaller companies in your country that might want engineers.

The other possibility is to work on things like Zigbee/Short Range Radio, which is a bit simpler to get working, and start from there.

There are a bunch of design contests that you might use to show your design skills. Infineon is running one right now with one of their chips.

What are your career goals? That would help with advice.

Thanks for your care
My career goal is simple
BE BEST Professional ,I can be.
RF or anything related to wireless(even wireless networking ) inspire me.
I think woreless networking would be better because CiScO hire from my country.
BUt I wonder if a EE can pursue career in Networking becasue it is supposed to be for Computer guys.
Secondly ,I have applied to qualcomm too.I would struggle for qualcomm positions .Can you tell me if it is possible for me?
