The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

I had a certain success with non-PC displays on test equipment that had no screen file builder or external interface.
I set up a digital camera on a tripod in low light conditions and no flash.
I took an exposure at 1/100 second using an Olympus camera with close-up feature. Any phot-editor software can then be used to annotate and edit the jpg that results.
It is clunky, but flexible in that the end product is an image file.
With no file builder in some older testgear, that is all you can do.
