Parametric/Probecard system - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

All,
I have a device parametric system which uses a probecard. I would like to have a system( build some known value capacitors/resistors) on the probe card to measure/qualify) the caps and resistors we have in our technology. Is this a feasible way to qualify our production parametric system? Is this typically used in the industry?
Any advise would be appreicated deeply.
thanks
kamal

Honestly, your best bet is to measure that stuff before you put it on the board. The last company I started used MyData pick and place machines which would electrically test each component before it was placed. That way, you know the part is good when you put it down. Once in circuit, you can do a signature analysis on a part to see if it "looks rigt", but there really isn't a good way to check its absolute value unless you can isolate it.
