Portable onsite RF system test solution? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

I am looking for a portable solution for doing RF system troubleshooting. I have been looking at the Anritsu S312D. What do you think of these devices? Will it work well for testing passive devices such as filters and combiners? Will the reported rate of loss be somewhat accurate and trustworthy? What other companies make competing and/or better products? Does anyone make a truly portable Network Analyzer?

Thanks for your time.
