Donations? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Great idea To tell the truth, I never thougt of it. I already use PayPal for software sales, so a donation link should be simple enough.

Do you get many donation? From what I've read, it does not usually generate much revenue. I've had a couple gracious souls donate occasionally, but that's about it.

I'm not currently using any donation links. I think in the future if any of my sites get busy enough to take more of my time and effort I will do it. The more users I have at the time of the annoucement of the new donation link would be bennificial. I know it probably wont generate much, but anything I can do to recover some of my out of pocket expenses will help. I would hope that anyone who really appreciates a site like this would be inclined to give something. I have been on the soap box for some time yelling about the lack of RF "portals" if you will. I have found more usefull links on this site then google and yahoo has provided me in the last 2 years. I'd be happy to be the first to donate to your site.

Keep up the good work Kirt. I'm spreading the word for you. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
