Poll Voting Fixed & Note About Faster Page Loading - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

-- Amateur Radio
-- Anecdotes, Gripes & Humor
-- Antennas
-- CAE, CAD, & Software
-- Circuits & Components
-- Employment & Interviews

Greetings:

First, unregistered voting in the polls has been restored to permit voting without signing in. A software security patch that I installed a couple weeks ago undid my "fix," so I had to fix it again. Please register your important opinion in all the polls.

Second, the page load time has been significantly reduced after replacing the old ASP code for rotating the company logos at the tops of the pages with more efficient JavaScript. Before the change, my broadband connection required almost 5 seconds. Now, it is under 2 seconds. The ASP code had to execute on the server once for evey image, but now the JavaScript takes care of it right from the webpage. I have been looking for replacement code for quite a while, but until now all I found had issues with operating across all browser types.

Thanks for visiting.
