the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while typing up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the development and design of wireless control systems which will
be used in Kenall lighting, emergency and signage products. The Ideal candidate will have experience using WLAN,
ZigBee, Bluetooth, low-voltage control and switching circuits.
Create specification for wireless control systems based on overall product requirements.
Design wireless control systems; knowledge of IR control and/or stepper motor control circuits a plus.
Integrate programmable microprocessors within designs. Software competency necessary to update programs.
Create prototypes by hands-on bread-boarding and working with outside vendors.
Test and verify designs both manually and by using software based simulation and analysis tools, (Pspice).
Specify components with sensitivity to cost, availability and lead time; including off-boards such as transformers,
batteries, connectors, etc.
Work with internal testing and compliance group to ensure UL/CSA requirements have been met.
Prepare full documentation such as drawings, mill of materials, work instructions, testing procedures, etc.
Assist with ramp-up and de-bugging issues.
B.S. Degree-Electrical Engineering plus 3+ years RF design required.
General knowledge of CMOS, TTL, OP amps, A/D Converters, microprocessors, memory devices, active and passive
components, analog and digital circuitry.
Practical knowledge of electronic test equipment and data acquisition methods.
Ability to learn the basics of lighting including lighting terms and definitions as well as the basic physics
Able to become fully knowledgeable about optical aspects of LED lamp sources as it pertains to quality lighting
Defines self with the following traits: flexible, positive attitude, team player, multi-tasker, accountable
and responsible to commitments, passion for performing at highest potential possible while always seeking ways to
constantly self improve, creative problem solver possessing high level of detail and accuracy.
