RF Field Engineer

RF Field Engineer

This position acts as the Site Engineer and Site Inspector for a large scale Public Safety communications Project located in Harriman, NY. The Field Engineer will perform daily surveillance and inspections of contractors/sub-contractors in accordance with contract specifications. The Field Engineer will prepare comprehensive lists of incomplete items and punch-lists and ensure the completion of all work of Contractors per scope of work. The Field Engineer will recommend issuance of Certificates of Substantial completion, evaluate the completion of work by contractors and conduct final inspections with oversight Engineers.

This position requires a complete background check of qualified candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Bachelors' Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years' experience managing the design and construction of a major transit project.
Experience managing project work scope, budgets and schedules.
Strong project coordination skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of railroad operations.
Knowledge of negotiations, estimating and project controls.
Knowledge of LIRR construction operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Group Wise.
Valid NYS drivers' license.
Knowledge of Railroad's Department of Program Management procedures and guidelines, and construction standards.
Experience in the field, coordination of railroad Force Account and third party contractor activities and experience in ensuring compliance to contract documents and specifications, scheduling, reviewing invoices for progress payments and LIRR safety practices.
