"Angel Flight" is the unofficial
designation given to aircraft transporting fallen military members back to the USA
for burial. Country songwriter/singer Radney Foster came up with a piece by that title. The video presented
here is not the one posted on his site as the "official" version; this one is a
remix that has the words superimposed (and there is no advertisement in it - yet).
We're fast approaching Independence Day here in America and it seems a lot of people
have lost an appreciation for the sacrifices of our forebears. This, among many
others, is a fitting tribute to present-day servicemen.
On May 10th of this
year, Melanie and I attended a my Uncle Rick Blattenberger's burial ceremony at
Arlington National Cemetery.
He was buried with full military honors for service in Vietnam (two Purple Hearts).
The snappy flag folding over the casket and presentation to next of kin (my Aunt
Bonnie) is an event to behold.
RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
