Congressional Hypocrisy - Synonymous Terms
If the U.S. Congress applied the same accounting standards to itself that it
is applying to the Enrons and Global Crossings of the world, they would be locking
themselves up in jail for fraud. These same politicians routinely raid the Social
Security fund, the transportation tax fund, and scores of other funds to pay for
their pet projects and pander to their voting core groups. They meet in their sacred
chambers and fetter away taxpayer money, then grandstand in front of TV cameras
to denounce the latest breaking corporate scandal and vow to see justice done. Remember,
this is the same bunch that cooked the books and told us we had a balanced budget
in the 1990s, while increasing the national debt by $500 billion US. The hypocrisy
is astounding!
