Do You Stutter? You're in Good Company

Roughly 1% of the U.S. population stutters to some degree. Almost 9% of some people groups in Africa stutter. Boys and girls are equally likely to stutter, but adult men are 4 times as likely to stutter than are adult women. The average stutterer stutters on 5% to 10% of his syllables. Winston Churchill, Aristotle, Robert Boyle, Lewis Carrol, King Charles, Charles Darwin, Marilyn Monroe, Isaac Newton and Theodore Roosevelt were all stutterers.
