MIT
PhD candidate David Mellis has recently achieved fame for his custom designed and built cellphone.
$150 worth of cobbled-together parts got him a GSM phone with an 1.8″ color , 160×128 pixel,
TFT screen. He used a clever way of forming the pressable buttons in the plywood cover. Digi-Key
must be happy with the unintended product placement opportunity in this picture of
David
and his companion trying out his wooden phone.
