Azimuth Reports Record-Breaking Growth and Revenue in 2011

- Begins 2012 with Launch of New Website
ACTON, MA- January 18, 2012 - Azimuth Systems, Inc., a
leading provider of comprehensive real world wireless test solutions for 2G/3G/4G, today announced the company
reached significant milestones in 2011, including achieving record revenue for products such as its
ACE™ MX wireless
channel emulator,
Azimuth Field-to-Lab (FTL) solution, and
Azimuth Real World Performance Measurement (RPM) solution. The company reported 40% year-to-year growth for
its core ACE MX platform and increased its staff by 30%, marking another year of impressive growth in a turbulent
economy.
In 2011, Azimuth launched the Azimuth RPM Solution, which creates a laboratory-based environment
where signals are transmitted physically “over the air” to capture the effects of device design in real-world
conditions. The solution combines a compact mobile isotropic chamber with the ACE MX MIMO channel emulator to
create a true 3D isotropic environment in a compact form factor (small enough to fit through most doorways),
without forsaking technical accuracy. This provides a portability option that until now has not been possible with
over-the-air testing, eliminating many of the logistical challenges that are experienced with large anechoic
chambers while providing more test flexibility.
Azimuth also introduced enhancements to its award-winning
Field-to-Lab Solution, adding several cutting-edge features that were previously unavailable in the testing
marketplace, designed to help customers improve product quality and reduce time to market. Most notably, the
Azimuth Field-to-Lab Solution is the first in the industry that allows users to automate the entire testbed by
using Azimuth’s DIRECTOR II Test Builder, a modular, intuitive, non-programming environment which allows even
novice users to automate testing.
In terms of customer growth, Azimuth’s customer base continues to include all of the world’s leading
infrastructure vendors as well many major mobile device, operator and semiconductor companies. New customer wins
in 2011 included
Nokia Siemens,
Airspan Networks, and
Rice University. Azimuth has also illustrated its industry-wide support by working closely with other leading
test system vendors.
Anite partnered with Azimuth to incorporate the ACE MX into its unique LTE data performance solution which
includes carrier-based scripts for LTE data throughput. Anite is now successfully delivering a complete turn-key
LTE Performance Test solution to the wireless market.

notable accomplishments include the addition of a solutions team focused specifically on automating and
simplifying complex test plans. The Azimuth Solutions Development team, led by Director of Solutions Deepak Das,
works closely with customers throughout the wireless ecosystem to automate a wide range of test requirements and
create new solutions based on Azimuth products. In 2011, Azimuth also introduced new TD-LTE test solutions for TM8
(Transmission mode 8).
The market strength of Azimuth’s real world wireless test solutions was further
validated by the receipt of Test and Measurement World’s 2011 Best in Test Award for the Azimuth Field-to-Lab
solution in April of 2011. Azimuth’s RPM solution was also named a finalist for the 2012 Test and Measurement
World Best in Test Award; final winners will be named at the end of this month. Azimuth also continues to be a
prominent presence at industry events, participating in such shows at CTIA Wireless 2011, Antenna Systems 2011,
PTEXPO COMM China 2011 and SDR ‘11: Wireless Innovation Conference and TD-LTE Testing Technology Seminar 2011.
Azimuth also presented “An Introduction to
Over-the-Air Device Performance Testing” webinar with Microwave Journal.
