MAGUS (PTY), EMSS and CST Announce the Next Major Release of Antenna Magus w/200+ Antenna Models
|
May 23, 2012 Press Release
-– Now with over 200 antennas, still the largest antenna database in the world.
Stellenbosch,
South Africa & Darmstadt, Germany, May 23rd, 2012, MAGUS (Pty) Ltd, EMSS - EM Software & Systems-S.A. (Pty)
Ltd, CST - Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST), announce the release of the third major version of Antenna Magus.
With this major version 4.0 release, Antenna Magus has crossed the 200 antenna mark – a significant number of
antenna designs - further entrenching the product as the world’s leading antenna design tool. Antennas can be designed
for a wide range of objectives (like frequency, gain, impedance and substrate properties etc.) and validated simulation
models of user-designed antennas can be exported to FEKO®, CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® and AWR DESIGN ENVIRONMENT®.
Antenna Magus 4.0 offers application specific designs which are optimised for various applications like WLAN,
GPS and other broadband applications. This new capability focusses on solving application specific problems where
design objectives are predefined by the application area, or where complex topologies preclude algorithmic synthesis
as a design approach. Users can now explore and investigate multiple novel antenna topologies, accessing designs that
have been pre-optimised to meet industry specific standards for relevant applications.
“In the few short years
since we first released, Antenna Magus has grown to an impressive collection of antennas and antenna design tools
– realising its potential as the indispensable antenna synthesis tool.
Our team of engineers and software developers
have done ground breaking work, researching and capturing practical antenna topologies, which are presented in a way
that is accessible and useful to both inexperienced engineers and antenna experts. Version 4.0 sees the introduction
of some exciting new antenna design and array synthesis options that enhance the capabilities in many application
areas. The knowledge and engineering content available through Antenna Magus continues to grow, making it a more powerful
and flexible tool with every update.”, stated Brian Woods, Managing Director, MAGUS (Pty) Ltd.
Highlights
of Antenna Magus 4.0 · 200 antennas in the database. · 168 new and updated parametric export models.
· Application specific design options. · ‘Instant’ performance estimation for many designs. · Import custom
3D antenna patterns for use as array elements in the array synthesis tool. · New visualisation options for radiation
pattern results. · Expanded import and export formats and options for chart and array layout data.
Availability Antenna Magus Version 4.0 is immediately available and can be purchased through any
FEKO or CST reseller.
About MAGUS (Pty) Ltd MAGUS (Pty) Ltd develops antenna design and
information management software. Antennas designed using its software can be used in a wide variety of applications
at various frequency bands, including, but not limited to, telecommunications, mobile devices, aerospace, satellite,
automotive, radio astronomy and defence. For further information please visit

About FEKO and EMSS
- EM Software & Systems-S.A. (Pty) Ltd. FEKO® is a comprehensive computational electromagnetics code
(CEM code) used widely in the telecommunications-, automobile- , space- and defence-industry. FEKO offers several
solution techniques (MoM, MLFMM, PO, GO (Ray Launching), UTD and FEM) under a single licence. Hybridisation of these
techniques enables the efficient analysis of a very broad spectrum of EM problems e.g. 3D antenna design, antenna
placement on electrically large structures, microstrip-antennas, microstrip-circuits, EMC, biomedical and scattering.
With the MLFMM, and the true hybridisation of the solvers, FEKO is considered the global market leader for antenna
placement analysis. FEKO has a well established global distribution and technical support network with subsidiary
companies in North America and Europe and representatives 9 other countries. EMSS was started in 1994 as an engineering
company consulting in general electromagnetic problems.

About CST – Computer Simulation Technology
AG CST develops and markets high performance software for the simulation of electromagnetic fields in
all frequency bands. Its success is based on the implementation of unique, leading edge technology in a user-friendly
interface. CST’s customers operate in industries as diverse as Telecommunications, Defense, Automotive, Electronics,
and Medical Equipment, and include market leaders such as IBM, Intel, Mitsubishi, Samsung, and Siemens. With 180 employees
worldwide and a network of qualified distributors, over 220 people are dedicated to the development and support of
its EM products in more than 30 countries.
CST’s flagship product, CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® (CST MWS) is the market
leader in Time Domain simulation. It enables the fast and accurate analysis of high frequency devices such as antennas,
filters, couplers, planar and multi-layer structures and SI and EMC effects. CST MWS offers considerable product to
market advantages such as shorter development cycles, virtual prototyping before physical trials, and optimization
instead of experimentation. Further information about CST is available on the web at
