January 31, 2012
Z-Communications,
Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant Voltage Controlled Oscillator model USSP2350-LF for mobile communication
system applications where low power consumption and small package size are critical. The USSP2350-LF covers the
frequency range of 2300-2400 MHz in 0.5 to 3.0 V of tuning voltage. This high performance VCO comes available in a
compact surface mount package measuring a mere 0.2" x 0.2" x 0.04" while operating off 2.7 V and drawing only 6mA,
typically. The USSP2350-LF provides a spectral purity of -82 dBc/Hz, typically, at 10 kHz from the
carrier and is designed to operate over the commercial temperature range of -20 to 70 °C. This ultra miniature
VCO delivers 0±4 dBm of output power into a 50 ohm load and suppresses the 2nd harmonic to better than -13
dBc. The USSP2350-LF will not only augment any mobile radio system specification due to its low power consumption,
but will further enhance any PLL design due to its 1.1:1 linearity over frequency and temperature. This remarkable
new VCO is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. It is also ideal for automated
surface mount assembly and reflow. For further information on this model or any other product from
Z-Communications, Inc. please contact our Applications department via e-mail at

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
