Phase Matrix Announces QuickSyn® 10 GHz Frequency Synthesizer

-  New 10 GHz QuickSyn® Lite Frequency Synthesizer

June 20, 2013
Santa Clara, CA

Phase Matrix's newest addition to the QuickSyn® line of microwave frequency synthesizers is a 10 GHz synthesizer housed in a very compact package, only 4 x 4 x 0.8 inches.  The new synthesizer, model FSL-0010, employs the revolutionary phase-refining QuickSyn® technology, which allows this line of signal sources to perform with remarkably low phase noise, switch between frequencies very quickly, and consume power efficiently.

The new Quicksyn® Lite synthesizer is less than half the size of the full featured 10 GHz and 20 GHz QuickSyn® synthesizers, yet it performs with wide coverage (0.65 to 10 GHz), fine resolution (0.001 Hz resolution), fast frequency switching (100 μs), and exhibits instrument-grade spectral purity.  Furthermore, the FSL-0010 includes SPI and USB control interfaces, and like all QuickSyn® synthesizers, this new model is immediately deployable by connecting it to a PC and power source.  A soft front panel allows the user to access frequency sweep and list mode.

Instrument designers restricted by reduced footprint goals, power consumption constraints, and the need for low phase noise will appreciate the FSL-0010 as the single solution to a multitude of design challenges.  Moreover, the QuickSyn® Lite is amazingly affordable!

About Phase Matrix
In 1999 former employees of EIP Microwave, a well-established and longtime manufacturer of RF and microwave T&M instruments, purchased a substantial amount of EIP's assets to form Phase Matrix, Inc. In their senior technical roles at EIP, the founders of Phase Matrix contributed significantly to EIP's most innovative products, including continuous-wave and pulsed microwave counters and VXIbus synthesizers, counters, and down converters. The company vigorously supports the large installed-base of EIP products under the EIP brand.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
