-- VCO: Octave Tuning V950ME36-LF Features Linear Tuning
Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model
V950ME36-LF
in the C-band. This octave tuning VCO operates at 5120 to 6120 MHz with a tuning voltage
range of 0 to 22 Vdc and provides better than 1.1:1 tuning linearity. This high performance
VCO features a spectrally clean signal of -87 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset and a typical
tuning sensitivity of 51 MHz/V.
The
V950ME36-LF is designed to deliver 0 dBm of output power into a 50 Ω load while operating
off a 5 Vdc supply and drawing typically 22 mA of current. This low noise VCO operates
over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to 85 ºC. The V950ME36-LF features
typical second harmonic suppression of -32 dBc and comes in Z-Comm's standard, low profile
MINI-16HL-SM package measuring 0.5 in. x 0.5 in. x 0.13 in. It is available in tape and
reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly
and reflow.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
