Single Band Solid State GaN Amplifiers Designed for Product Testing

July 2, 2019 - Empower RF Systems will be exhibiting in Booth #201 at the 2019 IEEE EMC Symposium, in New Orleans' Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from July 22 through 26, 2019. Please be sure to stop by and let us help you with your project needs. Three of our featured RF power amplifiers, perfectly suited for product developmental and assembly line testing, are presented here.

Equally suited for the production floor, engineering lab, or anechoic chamber, the SKU 2223 comes complete with internal DDC, external forward and reverse sample ports, and an easy to use web served GUI. In depth health monitoring with alarms visible on the front panel are also pushed out the LAN port. Output modes include Manual Gain Control, AGC and ALC which provide useful flexibility when integrating into product testing applications.

Model SKU 2222 produces 50 watts of power across the same band and is ideal for conducted testing with any modulation scheme CW/Pulse/OFDM/AM/FM/Multi-tone. For complex digital modulations, you set the PAR and the amplifier will meter and report the output power accurately. A perfect choice for the “handy transmitter” ISO 11452-9 test.

For embedded applications Empower RF offers even more bandwidth with the SKU 1219 module – 500 to 6000 MHz in a single band solid state 48VDC GaN compact module. Delivering a minimum 25W (40w typical), Empower RF is the first amplifier manufacturer to cover this bandwidth with an affordable COTS product.

The 1219 utilizes 50V Gan on SiC which is the most robust GaN semiconductor technology available. GaN on SiC technology has lower leakage currents and higher thermal conductivity and are known to be a more reliable technology than GaN. An added benefit is 50V devices require about half the input current as their 28V counterparts offer the benefit of reduced external power supply size and weight.

For technical application questions and to learn more on features that ease integration into your own test rack and test software, please visit us at booth #201 at the 2019 IEEE EMC Symposium, New Orleans, July 22 - 26, 2019 or call (310) 412-8100 and press 2 for sales.

Electronic Warfare Europe 2019 - RF CafeEmpower RF Systems will be exhibiting at this year's Electronic Warfare Europe Convention in Stockholm, Sweden at Booth E17. Empower RF Systems is conducting remote live demonstrations of our broadband, high power 1 kW, 1 to 3 GHz amplifier. The amplifier will be housed at our headquarters in Los Angeles and viewed in the AOC exhibit venue with live streaming video while remotely controlling the amplifier from the exhibit floor through a standard web browser.
