R-E Crossword Puzzler

April 1969 Radio-Electronics

April 1969 Radio-Electronics Cover - RF Cafe[Table of Contents]

Wax nostalgic about and learn from the history of early electronics. See articles from Radio-Electronics, published 1930-1988. All copyrights hereby acknowledged.

Edmund Brown created a handful of these "R-E Crossword Puzzler" challenges for Radio-Electronics magazine. They are akin to crossword puzzles, except that all the clues and words are Across (no Down). Each row shares a letter with the adjacent row, so all but the top and bottom rows share two letters, which are provided by Mr. Brown. These are pretty easy, but occasionally the inclusion of a somewhat outdated word makes it a bit more difficult. You will probably be able to whip right through this one; there is only one word that might cause some head scratching if you are not a regular reader of RF Cafe articles.

R-E Puzzler

Try this "only-across-word" puzzle based on electronic terminology. Each word is connected to the one above and below by a single letter. It should be fairly easy to get a perfect score except perhaps for someone who thinks "Heaviside layer" is the problem of the obese, or that "microhms" are similar to bacteria! Got a pencil? Ready? GO!
