UHF Circuit Card Amplifier for CubeSat Radio Systems - RF CafeUHF Circuit Card Amplifier for CubeSat Radio Systems

The TA1120 is a small form factor, lightweight circuit card amplifier that has been designed to be integrated into existing CubeSat and NanoSat satellite systems.

Operating from 380 to 470 MHz, the TA1120 is compatible with most UHF transmitters. This amplifier offers up to 4 W of output power to ensure proper communication while operating in Low Earth orbit (LEO).

Weighing in at less than a half of an ounce with a footprint of only 2.7 x 1.3 inches, the TA1120 is perfect for applications where small size and light weight are critical.

With a voltage input range of +9 to +14 VDC, the TA1120 is versatile enough to operate on a range of available voltage buses typically found in a CubeSat chassis.

The TA1120 is currently in the process of becoming space flight qualified, and will soon join the other qualified amplifiers in the Triad RF product line such as the TA1109, which is currently flying in Low Earth Orbit aboard a commercially available CubeSat Chassis.

C-Band High Efficiency 4 Channel (QUAD) MIMO Ruggedized BDA - RF CafeC-Band High Efficiency 4 Channel (QUAD) MIMO Ruggedized BDA

Well suited for today's modern 4x4 MIMO radios, the TTRM4005QR is designed to extend the range of mission-critical communications. Covering the lower C-Band, this BDA offers 25 watts of output power, and operates from 4400 - 5000 MHz.

State-of-the-art GaN devices, along with complex matching circuits for the driver and final devices allow the TTRM4005QR to deliver 5 watts of OFDM output power per channel, while maintaining an EVM of 4.4%. Compared to our older model, the TTRM1008Q, this new quad BDA is almost four times more efficient meaning lower power consumption, longer battery life, and less required cooling.

Featuring an integrated heatsink and an IP67 rated DC/Control circular connector, the TTRM4005QR has been built to survive in extremely severe environments. The unit has been designed in the same manner as our other military products that have successfully passed the rigorous tests of MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461E and MIL-STD-901D. Integrating the heatsink also helps cut down on size, allowing the TTRM4005QR to measure in at 11.00 x 4.77 x 2.50 inches to help meet strict SWAP requirements.

The TTRM4005QR comes with several new features including the following:

  • Available with either RF-detect automatic Tx/Rx switching or manual Tx/Rx control
  • Status pin to indicate over-temperature alarm, or a failure mode
  • Improved base plate temperature output circuitry

Production quantities have already begun shipping to several domestic and international customers of high speed video and data links.

200 Watt 2x2 MIMO S-Band Bi-Directional Amplifier - RF Cafe200 Watt 2x2 MIMO S-Band Bi-Directional Amplifier

The TTRM1123D is our latest Dual Channel BDA operating from 2200 MHz to 2500 MHz. Offering up to 100 watts of output power per channel for a total of 200 watts when used with a MIMO radio, this bi-directional amplifier is our highest power Dual Channel model in our COTS BDA lineup.

Using state of the art GaN technology, this BDA is able to maintain over 30% efficiency while operating at its maximum output power.

The TTRM1123D measures only 8.35 x 4.95 x 1.31 inches. RF connectors are TNC Females and the DC connector is a circular locking 10 Pin. The unit is built to pass MIL-STD-810 and equivalents. It also includes our newest over/under and reverse voltage protection circuitry to help prevent accidental damage during integration and usage.

10 Watt Low SWaP 3 GHz LTE Amplifier - RF Cafe10 Watt Low SWaP 3 GHz LTE Amplifier

The new TA1205 uses state of the art GaN devices that operate in the 3000-3600 MHz band.  It amplifies in several of the LTE bands including 22, 42, 43 and 48. The unit provides 23 dB of small signal gain with a peak power of 10 watts. When transmitting COFDM signals, the unit provides 2 W across the band with an EVM of 4% or better.

The TA1205 boasts a small form factor measuring 4 x 2.3 x 0.5 and weighs 5 oz. The DC connector is a 9 Pin micro D-Sub that accepts input voltages from +9 to +20 V. RF connectors are both SMA Females.

Triad RF Continues to Grow! - RF CafeTriad RF Continues to Grow!

Triad RF's revenue grew over 40% from 2017 to 2018! A portion of the growth came from our military ultra wide-band power amplifiers, our new CubeSat product line, and continued strength from the MIMO radio market.

Even though our staff grew over 23%, our profit margins increased as expected, allowing us to continue to heavily invest in new product development including high power radio systems. Our space product line and further development of our high powered MIMO radio subsystems continue to move forward with continued product releases coming throughout 2019.
