Axiom Test Equipment, Inc., an electronic
test equipment rental and sales company has published a new blog post entitled "Modular
Test Solution Speed Semiconductor Testing," that explains how electronic loads
are able to enhance the performance of AC and DC power supplies and energy sources.
Connecting an AC or DC electronic load to the output of an AC or DC power supply,
respectively, enables it to replace the electronic circuitry normally at that point
in an electronic design or product and study the behavior of the power supply under
a variety of operating conditions. A power supply can be analyzed by connecting
it to a suitable-sized resistor to sink current to ground. However, such a passive
load is not representative of most actual applications. An electronic load mimics
the complexity of a real-world load with resistance, inductance, and capacitance
that can vary under changing conditions. Whether by manual tuning or programmed
under computer control, an electronic load can mimic the many different load conditions
facing a power supply...

Antenova Ltd, the UK-based manufacturer
of antennas and
RF antenna
modules for M2M and the IoT, is adding a new offering to its range of miniature
Surface Mount Designed (SMD) antennas and modules for GNSS applications. The new
antenna, Agosti, part number SR4G080, measures 9.0 x 5.8 x 1.7 mm and operates
with exceptional efficiency in a reduced space on a corner of a PCB. The key advantage
of the Agosti antenna is its small ground plane requirement. Most SMD antennas use
the surface of the PCB around the antenna as a ground plane to radiate signal from,
so it is the ground plane requirement not the physical dimensions of the antenna
that defines the space it needs. Antenova's radiated measurement results show Agosti
operating well on small ground planes of 40 x 20 mm, 70 x 25 mm and 80
x 30 mm, making it a good choice for small form factor designs...

Axiom Test Equipment, an electronic test
equipment rental and sales company has published a new blog post entitled "Learn
When an Analyzer Makes More Sense Than a Meter," that helps identify when it's
better to pick an analyzer or a meter unit, based on the requirements you have.
Some test units, like meters, are designed for speed and simplicity and to read
a single electrical parameter, such as voltage, current, or power. Other test units
are more elaborate and are called analyzers because they not only gauge the value
of an electrical parameter, but they also enable full study of it. However, both
types of units have grown in power and sophistication and today's comparisons require
a bit more time and thought. Meters and analyzers may appear remarkably similar
at first, starting with the measurement of an electrical parameter such as voltage,
current, or power. Both types of units work with probes, sensors, or test fixtures
to determine the value of an electrical parameter for a device under test (DUT).
The meter usually gives a quick measurement, often a "one-button test," while the
analyzer may require more programming and setup time...

directional couplers, combiners/dividers, single-ended transformers, resistors,
terminations, and custom products. For us, "Engineering Driven, Customer Focused"
is not just a tag line but the way we do business. This catalog contains a list
of our most popular products. Please visit our website for a more comprehensive
and current product listing containing detailed mechanical drawings with electrical
specifications, performance data, S-parameters, and .STP files.
Come visit us at booth #4110 at the IMS show June 21 –
23 in Denver!
